Land of Learning opened in January of 1998 in Wilson, NC with only seven classrooms. Tom and Christy Fyle decided to open this childcare facility when they were unable to find quality care for their own children elsewhere. Just a year after opening their doors, they expanded the center to include ten new state of the art classrooms. They were eager to help even more children receive the best in care and education. They have created a loving and nurturing environment where children can thrive through the natural stages of development at the their own pace.
Christy Fyle has a degree from East Carolina University in Exceptional Children with a concentration in Child Development. She taught in the public school system for 6 years. This is where she first became aware of the high demand for children to receive a superior preschool education. Tom Fyle was the purchasing manager for a pharmaceutical company when he realized he had all the business background he needed to help his wife pursue her dream. Together, they have created what is considered to be one of the best child care centers in Wilson.
Tom and Christy are happily married and are the proud parents of three young adults and recently welcomed their first grandchild into the world. The Fyle's love this community and have continuously served on various organizations, county boards and charities through the years. They are members of Fike High School, Elm City Middle, and Wilson Early College Academy's PTO. Tom and Christy also encourage their own children to volunteer and give back to the communities that have given them so much.
We look forward to meeting you and your family!
